My coaching journey

I’ve always had a keen interest in people and how they work from a young age and loved understanding how people tick.

My father was my role model with his ability to operate at the highest level with his supreme level of discipline, a great mindset & motivation to make everything he did, the best it coiuld be. That transcended down to me from a young age and stayed with me throughout my personal and professional life up to now and will live on forever. My Mother was a wonderful support to many and a pioneer in her own right in the Education sector, being one of the first to implement Multimedia into the entire Birmingham system. Her tireless work, dedication and ability to work with people was a huge learning for me to understand you need to engage and understand people to get the job done in the best way. She inspired so many with her passion for her work and craft which spurred me on to do the same in whatever I did, especially with coaching which we shared many motivating conversations about the psychology involved and being able to unlock people to get the best out of them being so rewarding I had found when embarking on my coaching journey and throughout my career at that point in time and to the present.

When he passed away,my life completely changed. With a lack of drive, motivation, no specific goals at that time and deeply sad for our familys’ loss, I realised I wanted to truly make a difference and impact to other people and give something back - which was what he always taught me and was reflected in all the people he worked with, mentored, coached, managed and cared for in his life. I have learnt over my 20+ years experience that it is people who make processes and businesses work and you must nurture them correctly so they can operate at the highest level for themselves. I invested in coaching myself and quickly realised it was where I needed to be to emulate my burning desire for the best results always, not only for myself but for others and for people in general whom I worked with for as well as people who worked for me to make the process so efficient - to nurture their ability to execute at the highest level.

My overarching aim/goal is to look back on my life and be proud that I have made a material impact and difference with my work and impacting others in making positive change in the world for themselves and spreading to the wider world in general. This all stemmed from my mother and father who were incredible figures in the community and how they cared for others and nurtured their talent in their own industries and held the strongest of personal values of integrity, compassion, love, respect, courage and resilience.

From my self-sustainability work in the Amazon Rainforest with an indigenous community, the Yawanawa Tribe and subsequent 20+ years of working in various industries, mainly in the Global Commodities sector, it’s became apparent that I found joy, motivation and huge value in seeing others grow and develop; not just for the individuals, but for the wider groups that were positively impacted by their growth, work rate and ability to operate at the highest level with my support, progressing in their environments, growing to reach their potential which shone on others and was reflected in projects, processes that they were involved with when they adopted that focus and ability to hit those targets required. That was when DWR Coaching was created.

Assisting people to achieve the best results in the most efficient way

When leading successful projects across multiple areas at various levels of organisations, C-suite to team members, as well as mentoring, training & managing others, I found the most valuable results came when I was able to assist with developing the people involved and achieving the best results in the most efficient way that came from their own realisations and changes their ways of operating.

I decided to take a leap and enter the world of coaching, which appealed to me and where I could see a clear path with my focus, loving every minute of it. In fact, I’ve only been more motivated to succeed since starting this journey, as I can see first-hand the value and results by having a coaching relationship that works.

I hugely benefitted from investing in myself from the start of my coaching journey in 2018 and spending extended time on my coaching qualifications, spending considerable time, money and effort to learn my craft, develop my techniques as well as bolt-on subsequent workshops with ELITE RETREAT, now being coached by Lee McQueen, to upgrade my coaching ability & strategy for my clients to have an even broader, deeper but more laser-focused coaching suite of options to choose from when they collaborate with me.
